• Why is my child not talking clearly?

  Just because a child is not talking clearly does not mean your child has a developmental speech or language problem. To be sure that your child does not have any communication delays visit the American Speech-Language- Hearing  Association website at: www.asha.org. After reading articles on ages and stages on asha website and you are still unsure of your child's developmental skills you may want to contact your pediatrician or our office to speak to one of our speech pathologist regarding your concerns. 
  
  It is also important to remember most children have their own time line as to when things will happen. However, schedule a screening if you feel your child is between six months to a year delayed in any developmental skills. This suggestion does not necessarily apply to premature infants, unless recommended by your peditrician. Most premature children may show some developmental milestone delays for the first three years depending on their premature status.This does not  mean the child has a disability.
