Evaluation Services

The speech/language evaluation is conducted in two to five visits at the clinic, depending upon the needs of the child. At the completion of the evaluation an extensive report will be provided to you detailing our findings, recommendations and an individualized treatment plan (if therapy is recommended). The results and recommendations of all evaluations will be reviewed with you (two to three weeks after the completion of the evaluation). The following types of evaluation are available to you.

Supplementary testing (View more)

Additional testing for children who have had an assessment within the past year, however are showing areas of need that are not reflected in the current report.


Articulation/Phonological assessment (View more)

Oral motor evaluation and speech sound analysis. A written report is provided and a meeting is scheduled to discuss the results.


Oral Motor assessment (View more)

Feeding, dysphagia/swallowing, and oral motor evaluation. A written report is provided and a meeting is scheduled to discuss the results.


Receptive and expressive language assessment (View more)

An evaluation of the comprehension of concepts, following directions, syntax, and the manner of expressing thoughts. A written report is provided and a meeting is scheduled to discuss the results.


Social-cognitive/Pragmatic assessment (View more)

Includes conversation skills analysis, problem-solving, making inferences, and may also include school and/or home observations. A written report is provided and a meeting is scheduled to discuss the results. This assessment is suggested for children who are 5 years old or older.


Global assessment (2-3 years old) (View more)

Includes receptive and expressive language assessment, oral motor, and articulation assessment. This is recommended for children who have no previous speech-language evaluations, those who are newly diagnosed.


Global assessment (4-18 years old) (View more)

Includes receptive and expressive language assessment, oral motor, articulation, and may include auditory processing assessment. This is recommended for children who have no previous speech-language evaluations, or those who are newly diagnosed. It is also recommended for children who have not been evaluated in the past 2 years.


Screening (View more)

Off-site preschool/school-age screening: available for groups with a minimum of 5 children; a 1:1, 5-10 minute screening per child; usually requested by the school or a group of parents. A summary of the findings is provided to the school along with notification to the parents regarding the child's performance. No written report is provided.

On-site preschool/school-age screening: a 1:1 session; typically 1 hour long; inclusive of parent consultation. A written summary is provided upon request, for an additional fee.
